About the Artist

Anne is a multifaceted artist. Her creative endeavors include paintings in oil, watercolor, acrylic

and pastel drawing as well as commercial design work by hand and by computer. Over the

years, Anne continues to expand her canvas which has included faux finishing, commissioned

murals, portraiture and paintings for movie sets. She also curates art for several restaurant

spaces, assists in color consulting, interior staging and restaurant interior concept and design.

The typical style of Ducote's paintings and drawings is a refined approach, venturing into

impressionistic and the abstract. Her creativity is characterized by harmony of color, texture

light, and composition which is highlighted by a sense of a story.

Anne Ducote grew up in an Air Force family, and as a result, lived in many places during her

early years. Anne graduated with honors from the Ringling College of Art and Design in

Sarasota, Florida. She was awarded a scholarship from Hallmark Cards for her last year of study, and

ultimately went to work for them as a designer in Kansas City, Missouri for the next

4 years. A move to Aspen, Colorado turned Ducote's focus to creating fine art. She began

selling her paintings and eventually moved to Austin, Texas. Travel has been a large part of

Ducote's life and as a result, her work reflects some of those beautiful places and experiences.
